Otaku Scents, The Anime Candles!

When you think of Otaku Scents, you probably think, “OH! It must be the smell of those otakus that are always in the conventions. DAT B.O.” If you really thought that, WOW… That’s all I can say… HAHA. Well, jokes aside. In all seriousness, you’re wrong.

Otaku Scents is a candle shop that provides to you all sorts of candles based off of different anime characters. I know it’s kind of random for us to create a blog post on them, but I’ve always been a huge fan of candles. Something about the sweet or herbaceous aroma that just makes me either really happy or serene. I know everytime I go to Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie with my girlfriend, I would go straight to the candles and smell the hell out of them. xD

On the real though, I thought that Otaku Scents is such an unique product that I had to get in touch with them for a blog post. I was given the privilege to interview Ashley, the owner of Otaku Scents and here was how the interview went.

Jake Merten, The Artist Behind the Anime Murals

I’ve always had a huge appreciation for artwork in the world, especially graffiti and murals. Being a native in the Los Angeles area, these pieces are displayed everywhere for everyone to see. I love to see the culture and expression behind it because they have such a bigger meaning to it that people wouldn’t realize.

A year ago, I took a stroll down in LA with my friends and happen to come across the mural (down below) in person. It was quite a sight. No one’s really exposed to seeing anime in such an environment that I was thinking to myself, “Damn. I hope people realize that anime isn’t just a kiddy cartoon or hentai. It’s a work of art.”

One day, I happen to stumble on Jake’s Instagram and had to hit him up about writing this blog post on his artwork. I was given the privilege to interview him and here is how it went.

OTAKU PIN CLUB: The Club You HAVE TO JOIN!

Otaku Pin Club. Yes, they are a club! HAHA.

On the real though, Otaku Pin Club is a brand that creates all your favorite anime series into pin forms. Anything that you can think of, they have created pins for, such as you Rem fans from Re:Zero to Kamina from Gurren Lagann (such as myself).

There’s not that many pin brands out there, and being such a pin junky as myself, I just had to check out their work.

LVL UP EXPO 2017: The Convention in the City that Never Sleeps

LVL Up Expo is the ultimate gaming and anime convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It’s held in the Cashman Center on May 12-14, 2017. It was my first time out in the LV for a con, and was given the privilege to attend the event under Press. This was how it went down! 😀

My Interview with Jane Sin (@js_cosplay)

Eliza from Tekken by Shutterfoo

Hello Anime Lovers and Otakus!

If you were able to attend Anime Impulse a couple of months ago, there was a Bingo Card that I created for the event. It was made to introduce to you some of the things that should get checked out during the event, which happens to include some of the cosplayers that would be there. I just had to bring that up because Jane Sin was a part of that Bingo Card. Her cosplays were well done and I thought that they should be noticed within the cosplay community.

With that being said, I thought it would be a great idea to start of this new section of our blog to introduce to you guys some great cosplayers out there and to learn more about them on a personal level. To start it all off, I was given the pleasure to interview Jane Sin about her and her cosplays, and this was how the interview went:
