As it gets closer and closer to Anime Expo, there are so many things to look out for: MERCH MERCH MERCH! Just kidding! I’m pretty sure y’all are looking more towards other things like cosplayers, panels with celebs, the Itasha line, and the people. (or at least I am.. xD)
There are so many good things to look forward to, but just to give you guys an idea of what is going to be there, here are some of my tops that I FORSURE need to check out that weekend!
GUESTS
This year will be featuring Miyu Irino, the voice actor for Haku of Spirited Away and Sora for Kingdom Hearts! Make sure to check out his panel, for it is the first time he came out to the US.
PREMIERS!
At Anime Expo, they will be showing The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE! The movie is going to be released on July 28 in US Theaters, but as far as we know, we will be given the chance to see it that weekend! If you want to see the movie, but it might be colliding with another panel or event going on that weekend, you can snag your tickets at mahouka.us theater ahead of time.
Other than the game releasing on June 25th, Anime Expo will also we premiering Fate/Grand Order the movie. If you are a huge fan of the Fate series, you will definitely want to check out this movie as well. From my understanding, they will be having the English Dub of the movie playing (will update if I find out otherwise).
AX will be hosting the world premiere for Violet Evergarden with the director Taichi Ishidate, voice actress Yui Ishikawa, and singer True. This will be playing on July 2nd, so make sure to mark your calendars for this one as well!
Code Geass: Power of Kings will be featured during the convention on July 4th. It will be featuring mutliple visuals and musical compositions related to the series, so this is definitely a must see for the fans!
Cowboy Bebop: Bounty Hunter Blues will be featuring a live jazz concert for the fans of the Cowboy Bebop series. This will be featured on July 4th, so prepare to experience the awesomeness that will end off the AX weekend.
TICKETED EVENTS!
Anime Expo will be holding the first NEON DISTRICT event where they will be showcasing the following djs: ☆Taku Takahashi, R3LL, banvox, TeddyLoid, Pa’s Lam System, and Massive New Krew. How is that not something to get hyped for?! You get a chance to listen to some of Tokyo’s Djs as well as others out here in the US that play the EDM that we all like. It will be sorta like a rave, but of course AX styled. I definitely want to check out this event and hopefully be able to party with y’all!
For Anime Expo, they will be featuring Anisong World Matsuri on both June 30 and July 1st. They will be featuring a bunch of artists from Japan and each day has a different theme.
June 30th: Anisong World Matsuri ~ Japan Kawaii Live ~

The Anime Expo Maid Cafe is going to be fun again this year! Maid Dreamin will be coming back again. Ayame, Peace, and Yuno will be there at the event again, so best to make sure you snag your tickets ASAP because the maid cafe always sells out!

Our friend Wooji is coming out with a new brand of clothing with a whole new style. They were once known as Button Mash Ninja, but have taken a whole new turn on their clothing that I’m super stoked for! Can’t wait to see what’s in store man! 😀
