Los Angelinos, are you feeling the con depression? Has it been a while since you last attended an anime convention? I understand the withdrawals, which is why you don’t have to worry no more. There is Ronin Expo!
Ronin Expo is an convention made for the fans of this Japanese Culture that we love to dive into; this includes anime, cosplaying, video games, and fashion. It was held at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Little Tokyo on June 10th 2017. This was the first year that the convention was held and it was filled with plenty to see.
To give you a glimpse of what this convention entails, here is my breakdown of what the attendees would be able to check out.
PANELS AND PERFORMANCES
There were multiple panels and performances that were available during the convention. The guests of honor were Bitter Black, KeltonFX, Dorothy Elias-Fahn, Yoshi Sudarso, Darrel Guilbeau, TiffanyFujii, Nips, and Kira Buckland. These people held their panels, meet & greet (autographs), and performances. Besides them, there were also special guests that had their performances as well, such as The Corps Dance Crew, Lovely Rushers, and Beacon Academy.
Here are some of the photos from their panels and performances.

YouTube Video:
To give you a visual of what we were able to see, here is a video that was made by Mike of Otakify.
Ronin Expo had a lot of do and since it was in Little Tokyo, you were surrounded by this Japanese American culture that allows you to fully dive it even further. I truly enjoyed attending the convention and meeting new people within the community. We made plenty of friends and learned new things from these people. I definitely want to check it out again next year and see what’s in store for Ronin Expo. I have high expectations for it to further develop and do well again next year.
