Neptune is a wonderful cosplayer, model and hella funny of a person. I’ve always loved her cosplays and her tattoos because their always so dope to look at. She’s been a part of this huge anime community for a while, and I’ve always wanted to interview her to talk more into detail about her and her work beyond what you see on a screen or even in person. Thankfully enough, I was able to have this interview her. 😀
Check out the interview about her!
Interview with Neptune
Hey Neptune! You are known as many names, meme senpai, tsundere waifu, saiyan princess/sailor senshi, especially THE MEME QUEEN, but why did you nickname yourself, Neptune?
Neptune is my favorite Sailor Senshi! Mars is actually the most relatable to me, but I admire Neptune a lot for having qualities that I want to have like patience and poise.
I know you’re into all sorts of anime just like us. What are some of your favorites? Which ones did you grow up on?
I was definitely a Toonami kid. As soon as I would get home from school I would immediately turn on the tv to Cartoon Network and Sailor Moon would come on at 4PM, then Dragon Ball Z afterwards. I of course grew up on Pokémon too so those were all my introductions into anime. As I got older I started to get really into series that were much darker. The irony is that horror is my favorite anime genre now but I can’t watch horror movies to save my life. I’ll literally have nightmares for weeks! My all time favorite horror anime is Parasyte, but I’m also a sucker for Highschool of the Dead, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and many many more!
If you were able to live an any anime world, which world would you live in and why?
Lord, this is a tough one. Maybe I would just like to chill on King Kai’s planet cause Bubbles is my boi!
I know you’ve have a lot of modeling opportunities and done many cosplays. What/who inspired you to get into it? What was the funniest moment you’ve experienced when you’ve done a cosplay for a shoot or convention?
I got into cosplay during a time when I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship. I have a good friend that would go to a con near us every year (Katsucon, which is my favorite con!) and I went with her and instantly fell in love with the entire scene and community. I had just shot my first Suicide Girls set at that point and as I continued to grow in alternative modeling, I become really comfortable also cosplaying and also merging the two together for shoots. There wasn’t one person in particular that inspired me to cosplay, but the community as a whole gave me a sense of inspiration, support and comfort to cosplay publicly.
Probably my favorite photo shoot moment so far has been wearing Pop Team Epic cosplays with my friend @uncannymegan at Otakon 2018. We basically just got to flip people off all day and fake punch each other (although I definitely actually punched her by accident, LOL SORRY MEGAN!). One of our photographers that day didn’t really understand how crazy those characters are and kept asking us to look cute but we kept making derpy faces all day. It was a super fun costume to wear and shoot in.
You have plenty of tattoos all over your body. What are some of your favorite / memorable tattoos? Which ones hurt the most for you? Which one was your first?
My favorite tattoos are actually the same ones that hurt the most. My armpit tattoos are Koffing and Weezing. I love them so incredibly much solely because it’s a hilarious placement for those two, but it was killer to get done!
If you could relate yourself to anime anime character, who are you most similar to and why?
Hmmmmm. I have always REALLY loved Bulma. She’s always ends up in the most awkward situations but always gets through them whether that’s using her brains or boobs. She has been one of my favorite characters through the entire Dragon Ball franchise and I’ve only appreciated her more the older I get.
I know you’ve done some collaborations with some clothing brands, and it’s really dope that you’ve repped some clothes from a bunch of our friends. If you were to do any collaborations with any clothing brand right now, who would you like to work with and why?
I would LOVE to do one with Four Eyes because I’m all about that lewd life and I think they would do such a wonderful job at creating a design of me as a big tiddie anime queen! *HINT HINT TO FOUR EYES*
Recently, Otakify has done a podcast on is anime a deal breaker as far as in a dating situation. Do you consider it a deal breaker, and why?
It is definitely not a deal breaker. Of course, it would be appreciated if someone I’m interested in is an otaku but I’ve always liked seeing people who like different things than myself that way I can discover new things to enjoy!
If you were able to give some advice to anyone who wanted to get into modeling, cosplaying, or becoming THE NEXT GREATEST MEME, what would you say?
It’s really really hard work but don’t be discouraged!!! It took me YEARS to get to where I am but I am so lucky to have a wonderful fanbase that appreciates what a goofball I am. It’s easy to compare yourself to other people and you always need to stay true to yourself! People will appreciate you for YOU. Don’t just solely feed into things because you think it’ll give you the most likes or comments, post things you love and that you’re proud of.
