What is DorkyPop?
How about let’s have our interview with them explain it all… 
Interview with Andon:
1. What is DorkyPop?
DorkyPop is an evolving anime/pop culture apparel brand based out of Los Angeles, CA. Every item is currently handmade (sewn, pressed, and printed) by Andon, and Debra helps with operations of the small business. We strive to create kawaii designs, using only the highest quality inks and fabric.
2. How/Why did you get into starting this clothing brand?
I initially started DorkyPop as a handmade jewelry brand, but it eventually turned into an apparel brand – grown out of a strong desire to create clothing that represented the things I love. Also, I personally felt I could I could introduce to the fashion market something new and exciting.
3. What inspires you in creating these different designs? (Sort of related to the next question)
Anime is definitely a part of what influences our designs, and is a major part of our current collection. We also like to pull inspiration from Japanese Culture and Pop Culture, which you see in our current designs, and hope to incorporate more in future apparel 🙂
4. What is your favorite anime? Is this what affects the style of clothing you create?
Haha where do I start? Some of our favorite anime are Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Initial D, Sailor Moon, anything Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki, Neon Genesis Evangelion, One Punch Man, Gintama, Bleach, Naruto, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Dragonball Z, to name a few…
Anime is only a piece of the pie that drives our design decisions and style of clothing. The style we create resonates with experiences we love, whether it be watching anime, playing video games, eating awesome Japanese food, cosplaying, or attending cons.
5. What are your future plans with the brand? Will you bring back past designs?
In the coming months, more graphic and pocket tee designs will be released, and some of our current designs will be discontinued. We plan to expand our line of handmade products for spring/summer (something super secret at the moment ^_^) and revamp our sock line with a higher quality sock and new designs.
And, if there ever is an overwhelming demand for any design, we may consider bringing it back 😉
