Cloud 9 Cute Maid Cafe, where do I begin??? I’ve been to a good amount of their events within this year to say that it is definitely a fun experience. It totally changes the perspective of how one would see that typical maid cafe that everyone thinks of, but makes it more relatable to the older audience and makes it seem like a giant party!
Thankfully, I was given the opportunity to interview with them to find out what makes Cloud 9 so great and what it is all about.
Here is how the interview went…
INTERVIEW WITH CLOUD 9:
1. What is Cloud 9 Cute Maid Cafe?
We are a pop-up idol maid cafe that caters to the otaku’s fantasy! We try to serve our Masters and Mistresses to the best of our abilities!
2. How did Cloud 9 originate? What is the history behind it?
It all started with the Chief Operator’s dream of running a maid cafe. She’s been to Japan and especially love the maid cafes in Osaka, and ones in Ikkebukuro! After a few parties between friends and asking friends to join in on the fun, it was time for us to make our cafe public! Our first Neko Maid Cafe was such a success and so much fun we had to keep doing more! <3
3. What is the difference between Cloud 9 Cute Maid Cafe and any typical maid cafe?
We are more like maid cafes in Japan than the typical maid cafes during conventions. Because we are an independent project unlike convention-maid-cafes, we can do more, have more flexibility, and cater to the greater audience with what they want. All maid cafes in Japan have all-you-can-drink alcoholic options, which is something we always wanted to bring over to the US!
4. What activities or games go on during the events?
We have all kinds of entertainment from live band performance to maids Pocky chicken games! Basically anything you can dream of that would hype up the attendees!
5. What kinds of themes do you have for each event? Are they always different?
We always try to keep up with the current trends or classic themes everyone would like, such as the Neko Maid Cafes! We also have done Shounen Jump, Gaming, Pokemon, and others!
6. How does everyone get into character before the event?
I think that depends on each maid! ^^
They should msg us on our official FB page! We will then send them an application and they will need to return it! Then, it begins the selection process for each cafe. We try to match each girl to a cafe that would best suit their interests, talent, and commute, outfits, and etc. There is also a long line as well! Special talents like singing or dancing or even being able to provide her own ride would definitely help with skipping ahead the line!8. I went to the previous event, Waifu for Laifu, and noticed that everyone dressed up as a different anime character. Does that mean that everyone likes anime? If so, what are some of your faves?
Of course we love anime! We are build on our love for anime and our wish to be kawaii and sexy maids! <3 Our favs are Shonen Jump, Sports anime, Sailormoon, Pokemon, Fate series, Love Live, Cardcaptor Sakura, Future Diary, Dangan Rompa, and so many more others!
