Weekend Binge: K-ON!

Are you a fan of music, especially J-Pop or J-Rock? Well, I have an anime for you. I know a bunch of you may have already seen this anime, but there are probably a bunch of you who may have not. The anime that I’m recommending for this weekend is K-ON! I know…some people may think, “Why this anime? It’s not even rated that high on My Anime List?” Well, personally, I’ve enjoyed this anime so much. K-ON! was one of the anime series that got be back into the anime game because of it’s hilarity and the fact that it involves music! Back in the day, me and a bunch of my friends formed a band, and watching this show made it feel relatable. I’m a huge fan of music and it has a huge impact on my life that I enjoyed this anime too much! xD

K-ON! is about a Light Music Club, led by Ritsu and Mio. They were trying to keep their music club alive before it gets disbanded. As they were searching for new members, they happen to convince Tsumugi, a very proper and well-mannered girl who happens to play the piano, to join their club. As that happens, in parallel it tells the story of Yui Hirasawa, a lazy, carefree person who was trying to figure out what club to join for the beginning of their school year. She happens to see one of their flyers for the Light Music Club. With her past experience with playing the “castanets,” she thought that she would be a perfect fit for the club. When she decides to check out what goes on in the clubroom, she finds out that their actually looking for a guitarist to join the band. Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi thought that she already knew how to play the guitar, which made her uncomfortable with joining. To bribe Yui to stay, they treated her with a bunch of desserts and tea to keep her around. THEY REALLY NEEDED HER TO KEEP THE CLUB ALIVE! Yui still declined the invitation. Their last hope was to play a song for Yui, which led to her accepting their invitation. From here on out, it’s about their journey as a band.

WHERE CAN I WATCH IT?

At the momen’t, K-ON! can only be accessed through Hulu Plus.
