The Return of Designercon 2021!

Due to the pandemic, many conventions were forced to be closed and pushed out the following year. After almost 2 years, DesignerCon aka DCon was finally able to open. It was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA on November 12th, 2021. If you were lucky enough, you were able to check out VIP Night (November 12th) and had access to all of the great items all the vendors had before the main public did.

Before I get into talking about the all the good stuff at this convention, let’s talk badges and procedures this year.

Firstly, we would get checked before we head into the building. Everyone was required to have their vaccination cards or have done a rapid test to verify if they have Covid. Once you do so, security would verify it and you would receive one of these wristbands.

Now, we would get our badges. This year, I was able to attend the event as press and you were given these wonderful badges that were designed by the artist, Greg Mike (@gregmike). Each of the different types of badges, (press, vendors, VIP, Saturday/Sunday, etc.) have their own design to them and they’re all pretty good.

Once you got your badges, you are able to enter the hall, but before that, there were a bunch of different rugs on the ground. These rugs were made by all different designers, artists, and brands, and I believe some of them you were able to buy.

Once you make it it past all the wonderful rugs and statues, you make to to the banner that welcomes you into the main hall.

Vendor Hall

Within the Vendor Hall, you had all the different vendors, artists, brands, and stores with their amazing set ups and products for show. They were all great to look at, but there were some booths that stood out to me. Even though all of the booths were great, these are some booths that I would love to shoutout.

FLAVOR BRAND (Booth 1931)

THE POP LIFE | THE BOOM BAP KIDS (Booth 1400)

DOPPLEBANGER (Booth 338)

NOTHING GOLD | JUST PEACHY (Booth 819)

Here are more photos I took during the convention of some vendors and their booths.

If walking through the hall got you exhausted and hungry, there was a small booth in the back area to buy some snacks or drinks. If you had the patience to wait, there was a full area outside of the convention center where they had a bunch of food trucks for you to try.

Overall, it was a great experience being back in the convention life and starting it off with DesignerCon was great.

As I mentioned previously, DesignerCon was one of my favorite cons of the year and I can’t wait for things to open up even more next year, so the con gets bigger!

Thank you DesignerCon for having me. See ya next year! đŸ˜€
