What is iiiiClothing?
iiii Clothing is a young clothing brand based out of Los Angeles, CA providing the nerd with the utmost quality in clothing.
Q&A Interview with Brian Le:
1. What is iiii Clothing?
iiii clothing is a street wear brand aimed towards the nerdy kids who have always had a hard time finding cool clothes that weren’t “too street” or “too nerdy”, just like them.
2. How/Why did you get into starting this clothing brand?
I’ve always been into fashion, especially street wear, since I was a teenager and I was a nerd, I guess. Whenever I would go shopping I would be very picky, I wanted something that represented me and that was hard to find. I wanted to fulfill a niche that I would be proud of. Originally I was going to call the brand “Average” and center it around school ( I know. It sounds lame.) but I paused on that idea. Later on in life the Shia Labeouf meme was going on and it gave me the mental push to finish the final thought on the brand and call it Foureyes or iiii.
3. I noticed that you have different designs for your clothing brand. Is it strictly anime or do you have plans to include other fandoms (include other geekery)?
It is not strictly anime. I didn’t want to put myself in a bubble because my life is not centered around anime so why should my brand. To be honest, I’m somewhat afraid to design certain fandoms, but I think in the future I will. Probably on special seasons and what not.
4. What is your favorite anime? Is this what affects the style of clothing you create?
Oh man, my favorite animes… High School of the Dead (because bae/waifu), One Punch Man, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball Z, Code Geass, Durara, Another, Future Diary, the list goes on and on. I remember talking to strangers at the time about all the animes we’ve watched and the list was lengthy lol Shout out to Alex and Howard.
Fashion and urban culture inspires me, so I follow other street wear brands and high fashion designers to see what is new and trending. From there I bring in anime, find the connection, and design. The culture inspires me more than the anime itself.
5. What are your future plans with the brand? Will you bring back past designs? (AKA the boxers xD)
Yes, the boxers will come back. Just not soon. Sorry lol. I want to make more products. Some fun things. I also want to learn cut & sew to make better quality items. But I’m focusing on T Shirts since it’s the easiest way to get my business running. In the future I basically want to make custom versions of everyday items just like other brands do.
