iiii is a LEWD clothing brand from the lovely Southern California, where a lot of their clothing is streetwear based with an anime twist. It’s been about 2 years since iiii first started out, but they have definitely set their place in this anime community. All sorts of people have enjoyed their designs from the anime lover, to the streetwear hypebeast! OF COURSE, who doesn’t like the occasional LEWD, here and there. xD
A couple of years ago, I wrote a blog on iiii, but actually didn’t get to interview him about his brand. Since a lot has changed for them and they were able to make a name for themselves, I thought it was a grand opportunity to finally interview Brian, the creator of FOUREYES to give y’all the story behind the brand and hear all the good stuff!
Here is how the interview went:
INTERVIEW WITH MR. LEWD
1. What is iiii? How did you come up with the name?
iiii is FOUREYES! I came up with the name in rebellion of all the lame “new” streetwear brands. There was a phase where every brand didn’t use vowels, so I said, “Fuck it! I’m using all vowels!” I always wanted my brand to be a bit nerdy anyways, so iiii or foureyes worked perfectly.
2. What inspired you to start iiii?
I’ve always been into streetwear since I was young. I loved fashion, but I loved the graphic on tees. For a good moment in time, I actually hated Pacsun because they would just have Volcom, Fox, and other lame Surf brands. I wanted art. I wanted something cool. I wanted to change the culture of cool kids and nerds.
3. What made you take the LEWD direction?
When I started the brand, I made 5 different designs in my first volume: one was sporty, one was aggressive, one was pixelated, one was cute, and one was lewd. My cute and sporty ones did good with friends, but my lewd one did the best with online customers. It was Lewd:Hearts. So on Volume 2, I used anime and some lewdness as inspiration, and I loved it. The rest is history.
4. What was the first shirt that you came up with? What shirt/design would you say help blow up iiii?
My first shirt design? Probably Picked LAst. It was my sporty design but nerdy? It came in a Heather blue and it was nice! Normal people fucking loved it…but it didn’t help blow me up. Lewd:Hearts was being reposted on Tumblr, people were buying it online, tagging me in pictures, asking for sponsorships, and it’s still being sold today in different variations! I have a deep love for Lewd:Hearts. I owe it my life. LOL.
5. It’s crazy how it’s been 2 years since iiii started. I know this is lengthy, but what is your favorite piece from each volume?
I know! Two years have gone by so fast. With 5 shirts every volume and 4 volumes a year…thats 40 designs! LOL even though I’m doing 4 designs a volume now it’s still a lot of work. But lets see…
Volume 1: Lewd:Hearts of course lol
Volume 2: Bukkake White! But Volume 2 had LOLRIP (before it was called that) & iiii Can’t Love You, which are still popular.
Volume 3: VENDING MACHINE! haha Bukkake White and Vending Machine were my favorites because they’re super lowkey but super lewd, perfect for the closet freaks.
Volume 4: STAY COOL is def when i got more blatantly lewd but everyone loved it at Anime Expo. It pretty much sold out and we barely released it that day!
Volume 5: Has to be Bondage or now called BDSM. I spent so much time on that damn file. I wanted to see how lewd I could go and I WENT THERE. No surprise , people love it.
Volume 6: Even though Hentai & Hennessy is more popular, I love Passionate Tour-ture. I think it looks cool! and I worked on it with someone I call a good friend. Plus he’s in Germany now, so that’s something cool to mention lol
Volume 7: It’s going to be HAD. I hate it because I used my personal life and moved on but everyone wants to see it again. I just want to forget. But I do love it because it helps me get in touch with my emotional side. #sadboiz
Volume 8: This is so hard to choose! I’m so proud of this volume! Every piece is great but I’m going with VOLUME. The embroidery is super nice, the girls are evil and cute, and it’s an ode to my whole brand. <3
Volume 9: Cozy! It’s the first time I went into 3 different colorways and was happy with it. It’s also just not super anime and not super lewd so it’s me delving into design in itself.

GETTING TO THE GOOD GOOD
6. I know a bunch of your content is very LEWD, but would you ever go NUDE?
LOL I would never go nude. I love clothes so much. You know how people feel comfortable naked? I feel more comfortable in clothes. I don’t even like wearing sandals in public.
7. What is your favorite hentai?
Man I can’t choose. I barely watch hentai because some of them are so wild. I just like to browse new ones, fap, and keep exploring. That’s the kind of person I am.
8. If you had to choose to be on an island with another anime character, who would you be?
Goku, I’m tryna get off that shit LMAO. But if I had to stay, probably my waifu so we can chill on the beach , survive, and wait for rescue.
9. If you were able to do any collaboration with a streetbrand, which brand would you choose? What kind of design would you go for that incorporates both brands?
Probably, The Hundreds. I respect them so much. They have media, a cool team, make cool stuff, good graphics, and a great story behind each of their stuff. We’d write an article, film something, and make cool anime clothes about it. I love that. Eventually I want to make short films about my Volumes, so I look up to the Hundreds a lot.
iiii has grown so much as a brand, but as a lifestyle as well. It gives the opportunity for people who love anime and the LEWD the confidence to express themselves and show off the badass side to this culture. I can’t wait for what’s in store for this brand and hope that this brand will keep this movement going!
