Long Beach Comic Con 2017

What is Long Beach Comic Con?

Long Beach Comic Con is a comic convention held out in the Long Beach Convention Center out in Long Beach, CA from September 2nd-3rd. It is a convention filled with all of your favorites, COMICS! But what’s great about it (other than being a comic convention), is that it is also catered to people who enjoy everything around comics as well, such as the art and toy scene, anime, cosplayers, movie memorabilia, and video games! It comes around the time when you start to have the convention withdrawals, which made it perfect! Besides that, it was super close to home, which more it more convenient to the South Bayers! Unfortunately, I was only able to attend Sunday, but still had a blast!

What can you find there?

Within the convention, they have plenty of panels to choose from. If you are interested in learning more about a specific movie, show, comic, or even cosplay, they would have a panel for you! Within the exhibit hall, there are a bunch of different things to look at! I met a couple of artists who create anime works (that I now LOVE!) and they were really nice.

Here were some of my favorite booths and artists that I checked out!

There were plenty of other great stuff that you could find there, but here are some photos to see what to expect at the convention.

Cosplays & Cars

But of course you can’t forget the cosplays! There were a good number of cosplays, but I swear, not a lot would pop up around me! xD

After checking it out on Instagram, more and more cosplayers were there, so I missed out on that. Here were some of the cosplays that did stand out to me though. 😀

To my surprise, there were a lot of cars at the event. They had multiple cars showcasing outside that were based off of different movies and tv shows! It was a nice change from the typical Itasha car scene that I would typically see at an anime convention. HAHA, but still gotta love the work that was put into these cars! Here were all of the cars that were available to check out at the event.

Long Beach Comic Con was great and I had a good time at the event. I highly recommend this convention, if you haven’t experienced a comic convention yet. It definitely gives you an idea of what to expect at a larger con like San Diego Comic Con, but still give you the luxury of having walking space and the convenience of being so close to home. If you are free next year around the same time, I would definitely drop by!
